We are over the moon to finally be able to announce that Izzabees’ Nicole Storey, will appear on Season 9 of Cupcake Wars on the Food Network this Saturday, October 19 at 8 PM EST!
We have had to keep our lips zipped since filming all the way back in June and it has been SO hard after such a special experience. We can’t give away any details yet, but we hope you will tune into watch and let us know what you think! Look forward to sharing more about our adventure after the show airs – what it was like working with the cast and crew, what our strategy was for the competition, how we prepared in advance of the show, and we’ll answer all of your big questions too.
Don’t forget to grab something sweet before you watch – you’ll be dreaming of cupcakes and your tummy will thank you!
Izzabees had the honor of participating in a great event for a wonderful cause tonight – the revered Women’s Night Out 2013! Naturally, we donated chocolate ganache cupcakes – possibly the best form of love and cheer there is! We were inspired by the women who benefit from this cause and decorated each cake with the motifs of breast cancer awareness in mind.
WNO’13 is hosted by the Lexington Medical Center and proceeds from the event benefit the Crystal Smith Fund, a program through the Lexington Medical Center Foundation that helps women undergoing cancer treatment purchase needed supplies.
We are so thankful for the opportunity to contribute something to such a worthy cause and are pleased to share more with you about the organization and the event. From their website:
“What began as a search to learn about her birth family’s health history became a journey that led Heidi Marble to her biological sister!
What began as a search to learn about her birth family’s health history became a journey that led Heidi Marble to her biological sister! But one year later, at the age of 34, Heidi was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer and given a 1 in 1,000 chance of surviving. Five years later, with treatments and both breasts removed, she was cancer-free, but now her sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Then they learned that they both carry the BRCA2 breast cancer gene. Despite these challenges, the reunited sisters have shown that there are many paths to healing. Join Heidi and Jen as they share their incredible stories using props, pictures and unedited bantering.”
We hope you will join us for WNO next year!
The timing couldn’t be better and we couldn’t be more in love with every motif, detail, color and font. We hired rural SC-based Brynley Farr and her team at By Farr based on the youthful, fresh and vibrant style of their work. We are, after all, visual people with a spunky 8-year old namesake!
Brynley and her team jumped right into the work and wrapped their arms around the spirit of Izzabees. Working together was a pleasure and we are thrilled to say together we’ve created branding that truly embodies the spirit of Izzabees. It’s light, sweet and full of love.
Check out their blog post on us to see the full branding scheme here!
This week we had the pleasure of working with the talented and gorgeous photographer Emily Chappell. Emily is a wife, a mother and a business woman so naturally we clicked right away!
Emily worked with us to capture our new cake stand collection, which is available for rent now (!) and our new monogram cake toppers.
Now that we have settled into our new home after a cross-country move and a wildly busy summer, we’re gearing up for fall. For us, that means exploring our new community and best of all, being a part of the farmer’s markets in our area!
We are excited to share with you that we will be a regular fixture in the Town of Lexington Farmers Market this year!
The Town of Lexington Farmers Market is primarily intended as a farmer/grower and local artisan market that uses a community-friendly atmosphere to promote, support and encourage local production, while educating citizens on the benefits of eating local, fresh produce and supporting local artists and the Certified SC program.
Izzabees will be serving all variety of sweet treats throughout the end of summer and through the autumn months – cupcakes, macaroons, cookies, pies, our famous cinnamon rolls, and some other very special concoctions we’re keeping secret for now. We will be at the market, located at 206 N Church Street, every Saturday from now until the end of October, from 9 AM – 1 PM. Please visit, we would love to see you!
It was a true pleasure to team up with Paiges of Style, our near and dear Hailey Faria to capture this precious celebration of sweet little Charley’s sixth birthday. This party had all the sweet things of a little girl’s dream – from cupcakes and candy to sparkles and music to twirl around to. Have you ever seen anything sweeter?
